S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû (/hu̽ˈgɑlʊ/ /vu̽ˈjʊʧʊ/ [pragmatic] [death]) is a subtropical Town located in Dirukvurmmese County, Mî Kûrà Empire, within the Warrenese Shogunate.

The name S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû is derived from the Wareneese language, as S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû was founded by Geddei Trêg̈, who was culturaly Wareneese.

Climate

S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû has a yearly average temperature of 11°C (51°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 25°C (77°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a freezing -3°C (27°F). Overview

S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû was founded durring the late 14th century in summer of the year 1254, by Geddei Trêg̈. The establishment of S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû was built using the conventions of Wareneese durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû is buildings have been located at convienant points along the gorge S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû was built upon. Navigating the town is therefore a little chalanging as the distance between buildings verris greatly and the crampt paverstone streets flow where they are able to be made rather than folowing the most convienant paths. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. Unfortuantly, these top tier civilian fortifications are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

A look around S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scutteling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine with the abundance of schools, libraries, and other academic structures. Locals can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear the town places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû long.

Civic Infrastructure

S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû has an animal control department which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the control, impoundment, and disposition of animals.

S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû's parks.

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû's natural decorations nor waterways.

S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

There’s a relatively new religion in S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû which is rapidly gaining power. It might be a sectarian offshoot of a major faith, the unique product of a new prophet, or an outside faith backed by wealthy and powerful foreign supporters. Depending on the demands made on believers, the new faith may be a matter of concern only to the existing clergy, or it might be a major flashpoint for conflict in the community.

S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known primarily for its use of abstraction and simplicity. Clean lines, right angles, and primary colors characterized this aesthetic and art movement expressed via architecture and paintings. Its design ethos allows only primary colors and non-colors, only squares and rectangles, only straight and horizontal or vertical lines. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements. These seemingly impossible principals for an architectural style coalesces into structures which most experts find hard to put into words. It is not that their geometry is impossible, but rather the style's attempt at producing works only describable visually was most successful..

The Ovinnik near S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

S̺urahi Vu̽yûchû's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves square dance to channel Truename Magic energies of tier 1 via oratory performances.
